This is not going to be a blogpost about “Why do people still use Reddit instead of everyone moving to Lemmy?”. I noticed that even with Mastodon users, who already understand and like the advantages of decentralized platforms, the usage of Lemmy is extremely small, and more people use Reddit. Most of them haven’t even heard of Lemmy. To be fair, the Reddit usage also seems to be fairly low.

I don’t like the way they said it, but I do see their point.

I don’t get banned from places often, but I’ve literally had a guy just decide they didn’t like my face and ban me from an instance.

And people 100% do sometimes act like you have to be completely in their comfort zone or you’re a terrible person.

I was about to respond ‘I’ve never been banned from an instance’ but then realized that I don’t know how I could verify it. 🤔

It’s finicky. You kind of have to check the mod log from that instance. I went to respond to a comment there and couldn’t and the mod log showed me as banned.
