Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and right-wing Senator Flavio Bolsonaro have wrapped up their election campaigns, each voicing confidence in victory ahead of Sunday’s tightly contested first-round presidential vote.

Lula, 80, closed his re-election bid on Saturday with a march through Sao Paulo, Brazil’s economic powerhouse, drawing what his campaign called a record crowd for a closing rally.

“Tomorrow, we’re going to win the elections in the first round,” he told supporters, describing Sunday’s vote as a choice between “democracy and barbarism” and promising to “defeat the far right”.

He has also framed the election as a test of Brazil’s sovereignty, warning against “meddling” by Washington.

mostly the right wing and assorted loons. there were no left leaning parties with an expressive amount of voters beyond lula’s pt. bolsonaro wins unless something big happens within the week.

didn’t Renan Santos leader of Missão which had avout 3 % votes im the first turn state that if he was to vote at one of them (he prefers not to) he would vote for Lula, even though Missão is anything but left leaning, maybe some of his followers might be willing to vote for Lula still, following their leader’s assement of the lesser evil

yes, last i heard he was expected to call for a null vote, but everyone knows most people who voted for him would vote for bolsonaro. from what i’ve seen, he appeals quite a bunch to the edgy incel-y teenager, so you can’t expect too many conversions.

i think lula’s best chance is convincing the record amount of undecided, and there are rumors of more bad stuff about bolsonaro coming out and more electoralist measures from lula. though if it’s not something huge, i don’t see it making a difference.

he would 200% win if he put the big work hours reductions bill to vote, but he socdemmed it away to fascist congress so that’d be a no-no.

Oh wow, where have a seen a pattern before where a madhead wins and ruins everything, the establishment gets back but pretends like everything is normal, and then the madhead wins again?
