Ancient Greece would have likely looked like this. This is a cool reconstruction of Curetes Street in ancient Ephesus.
Yeahhhh there’s a reason people never paint the stone of ancient Greece and Rome in modern depictions
Which is…
It looks really tacky
Good lord people leave OP alone. He’s at least posting decent appropriate content on a subgroup that needs it.
Many of us on Lemmy DON’T browse Reddit anymore and don’t mind seeing these “reposts”.
Ancient Greeks are kind of gaudy
It is nice to see the place in a bit more colour, but is that really realistic? I’m genuinely asking. I just imagine maintenance of a street like this would be quite expensive. I also imagine it would likely be a little less clean, unless it was kept up rather meticulously. What kind of social context would this street have been host to?
I’ve been to Ephesus. It’s so much more amazing in person than pictures can do it justice.

Thanks for your efforts in making lemmy reddit again.
Lemmy’s basic premise is the same as Reddit’s - a link aggregator. I don’t go to Reddit anymore, so it’s new to me. I like external content that’s selectively taken from there. Now, those bots that just flood subs with Reddit threads can fuck right off.
Have you tried not using Reddit at all instead of obsessively checking it to be the repost police?
Damn, how dare we get the possibility of discussing these posts here?
Dude, stop going to reddit.
This account is a known repost bot so yea
You realize 99 percent are lurkers and comments. I give people something to do to draw people away from reddit
As long as it’s a curated selection, I appreciate honestly
Yeah, echo that. Thanks so much for the curated experience. Lemmy feels a lot more full of interesting content with you cross posting some of the better stuff from the R place
Okay? All I did was point out you operate a repost bot. I didn’t offer any opinion on the matter.
