Ha thats good to know. I just retired several hgst sata drives that had greater than 85k hours on them, no errors in them, just thought I was pushing it and taking a chance. Thanks for sharing!

I have had luck with this ebay store…hoping this doesn’t blow up too much as the prices are still pretty reasonable. But just to note, these are used drives with 20K+ hours on them…SMART data provided for every drive sold. Good luck!

Ahh 10-4, yah I have accepted it and all is good :)

I like the concept here, but it doesn’t address the big gotcha that I found out when I setup my own lemmy instance is that you can’t federate to all the different instances that support activitypub. I can’t use my lemmy account to post on mastadon or loops.video or pixelfed, or etc. you still need separate accounts on each instance. Maybe someday they will all talk to each other but at the moment it is certainly mildly annoying.
