I mean, you or they could just block OP, but that wouldn’t stop them from taking traffic from Reddit. Hell, I block people who post dick pics in spaces not dedicated to dick pics. I realise it won’t stop them from doing that, but it’s not my place to stop them. That’s what moderators are for. I don’t want to be a moderator. (I do run a community, but I haven’t used Lemmy’s moderation tools yet, and do not look forward to having to.) I just want to enjoy my experience here.

My issue is that these posts are universally garbage, they provide nothing in the way of background information, external sources or links that can be verified. Sure, I could block this specific bot account, but they’ve got multiple and do the same shit in other comms and I am a bit tired of playing whack-a-mole.
So maybe rather than trying to bring everyone else down, maybe… just maybe… try to contribute in your own way.
Memes are dumb. I get it. I’m older than dirt so most of them go over my head. So the best of OP today was a joke that didn’t land with you and some other people (or it did land but you didn’t find it amusing). So is the best you’re going to do today to bring others down? Because, pro tip: This is all of you I’m seeing. Maybe you did some amazing stuff elsewhere, but a lot of people are only seeing this. They’re seeing this as your best behavior all day. The arduous task of clicking the user, clicking the block button. Even if there were a dozen accounts, you could do it in less than two minutes and be done with it.
I’m pretty sure it took you longer to type your ranting about it than it would have taken you to block every account that seems to bother you.
