It is a two party system. We don’t have any other options. When a socialist wants to run they run Democrat. Fascists run as Republican.

Lol, you deserve to be ruled by fascists.

There were six different candidates on my 2024 Presidential ballot. I voted for Gloria La Riva.

The only reason “only” a candidate from the Republicrat Wall St Fellator party can win is because dumb fucks believe only one of them can win. That’s it. There is no other reason. Stop being a dumb fuck, stop voting to support genocide, and stop treating people who support a genocide as if they’re normal and doing nothing wrong while treating people who won’t cosign on a genocide as if they’re the reason your preferred Neoliberal ghoul lost the last popularity contest.

Political beliefs cannot be cleanly or even roughly divided by giving people labels. And certainly not by placing all people on one side of a dichotomy.

      One side of a dichotomy

If the dichotomy is “do you find supporting genocide acceptable”, I find that separating the people who do from the people who don’t actually begins to solve a great deal of problems.

even roughly divided by giving people labels.

You people consistently misappropriate language in order to say something that makes no sense. Now “correctly describing the political ideology and actions of a political party” is some arbitrary division with random pointless labes.

by placing all people on one side of a dichotomy.

Good thing “all people” aren’t encompassed by “democrats and republicans”. But I got some news for you: When you are talking about “republicans or democrats” then you ARE talking about a dichotomy. Or not really, because they aren’t really opposed to each other or in any way dissimilar, but there’s two of them, which is what you were thinking of.

I’ll preface this by saying I’m not from the US, I don’t live in the US, but I’m a neighbor to the US and have to deal with their bullshit just like everyone else.

As a left-leaning person seeing the right growing in power with every election (and every country), acknowledging that Democrats don’t hold my or my community’s best interests, but also acknowledging that they are closer or more adjacent to my views than Republicans and that we realistically are stuck in a 2 party system that forces us to choose a lesser evil, why shouldn’t I vote for the democratic party?

During the last presidential elections, the great argument that voting for Kamala was voting for genocide and whatnot was made. Can those who argued this stand here today and claim that their decision, their arguments, their views, were the correct assessment of the situation? Are your consciences clear knowing the hell Trump has enabled on Gaza, Yemen, and Iran? Knowing how much he’s empowered the billionaire class, the Zionists, the warmongers, the hateful, the corrupt?

There’s no alternative party, no momentum for one, no alternative system and no desire for change from the ruling class, and you’re stuck choosing between the literal worst group of people of our modern world, and people who aren’t as bad but aren’t great. Will you really argue, after primaries - and the chance to steer parties internally - are over, that both sides are the same and undeserving of your vote? Or that somehow voting for Trump’s party is the better choice?

I’m asking not because I expect you specifically to take blame or anything like that, but because this was the rhetoric last time, straight up MLs arguing in favor of voting for Trump over Kamala in a very unexpected turn of events that I simply could not believe or accept as anything other than a psyop by non-MLs.

Now similar voices are speaking, reminding everyone that both parties are the same in the worst possible moments to point that out. Not during the primaries, when the parties can be stirred into a direction, not at the moment parties register or organize, to have a fighting chance with a new movement, and not at the legislative level fighting for a more fair voting system… No… It’s always at the last leg of the race, between the two big parties, in a rigged system, when not voting for the lesser evil exponentially empowers the vastly greater evil.

Thanks for making it so plain you have the memory of a goldfish and nothing interesting to say.

We were saying it during the primary. Leftists been saying it every day for longer than I’ve been old enough to vote, and I voted the first time in a year that started with “1”. The fact that you don’t know that means you’re deliberately not paying attention except during the general when your billionaire-owned media programmers have programmed you to notice it and be offended by it.

The rest of the time you ignore it just like you ignore the massive dichotomy between Democrats’ rhetoric and their voting records. Just like you ignore the massive similarities between policy passed by Democrats and that passed by Republicans. You’ve been so programmed to focus on the aesthetics and the narratives that you routinely vote for the people making your life worse. Doesn’t that bother you at all?

Is it just me or I see it calling out the DNC cult who think they’re leftists.

Aren’t you the ones always waiting for the next election that will magically “fix” everything and return to status quo of being unaffected by your foreign policies while it ravages people abroad?

There are actual good people going out protesting, recording, blockading, deterring ICE. There’s people destroying surveillance tech, stopping data centers being built, shaming big oil/military industry execs at their own meetups. There’s ethical people openly calling out rapists, zionists, homophopic, racists, corrupt politicians, pigs and judges.

^This is actual progress. They’re most likely going to vote while also making the ruling class afraid.

Then there are people whose only thought process goes:

      • “one more election, bro”
      • “just one more election, bro”
      • “it’ll fix everything, bro”
      • “just vote blue, bro”
      • “it’ll work this time, bro”
      • “come on, bro, this is all or nothing, bro”
      • “I don’t care about war crimes, just let me have my cheap gas, bro”
      • “Come on, bro. If you don’t vote blue, the other side is much worse bro”
      • “they have no serious platform except populist propaganda, but they’ll only kill children in middle east and that’s fine by me, bro”
      • “please, bro. just one more election, bro”

      Weak

Hot take of the day: Democrats are actually just evangelicals with the serial numbers filed off. The world is a MAGA hellscape, but we just have to wait until the blue team is in power again when everything will magically be fixed. Any attempt to do anything other than voting makes you MAGA. Anything less than BLUE TEAM PRESIDENT is completely useless. Also voting for any third party or doing anything other than voting is accelerationism.

Addendum: It’s also full of fun contradictions - just like the bible! Voting for genociders is the best way to stop the genocide! Voting for democrats is somehow good for immigrants, even though Biden deported more than Trump 1 and Harris ran on having a harsher immigration policy, neat! You have to vote for democrats in order to protect Roe v. Wade - the thing that got overturned under Biden, which Biden did nothing about. Fun!

Laos doesn’t get much attention because they haven’t had much chance to develop after the US razed the whole country to the ground and left a bunch of mines and unexploded ordinance that are still being removed to this day. But they do have a communist party in charge, and China has been actively helping them recently.

But the US/west continuously try to destroy their economies, kill their leaders, foment social unrest, commit sabotage.

By almost every metric they were massively successful seeing some of the largest leaps in life expectancy in history side by side with the largest strides in poverty alleviation, infant mortality and more.

If you exclude just China alone from global poverty statistics global poverty by headcount is worse today than in 1981.

Not that you really care you just want to pontificate from your soapbox about “the silly Marxists” who dare to actually wish for and push for better.
